PEDESTRIANS BEWARE

PEDESTRIANS BEWARE OF CAR CRASHES IN SOUTH FLORIDA
If you live in South Florida you already know that many streets are dangerous when riding a bicycle, jogging, or even walking.  Apparently, it has been confirmed recently by a news report stating that the National Complete Streets Coalition found Orlando to be the most dangerous metropolitan area for pedestrians.  You may be thinking: “Well, I do not live in Orlando so I need not worry.”  However, there is still cause for concern – South Florida’s tri-county area was not far behind Orlando on the list!
As you can imagine, local politicians and officials will assure the public that improvements are in the works and that we will soon have safer streets.  However, talk is cheap, so be careful out there and be sure to keep your kindergarten’s teacher instructions in mind when you were told to look both ways.
In case you were curious, the least dangerous metropolitan areas for pedestrians were reported as being: Boston, MA; Pittsburgh, PA; Seattle, WA; New York, NY: and San Francisco, CA.
